Pittsburgh row house renovation

This solid brick 1890’s Lawrenceville row house was beautifully built, but unfortunately - all of the charm was removed in the 90’s. The trim was painted white, cheap kitchen cabinets were installed, along with builder grade tile and box store light fixtures.

It was completely transformed on a tight budget, with the power of paint, thrifted furniture, second-hand light fixtures, and a mix of old and new art.

This home was named one of Pittsburgh’s Top Ten Airbnbs in 2021, one year after the listing went live,

The before & after project photos show you can do amazing transformations without moving a single wall. It started with a dramatic paint color scheme, and a wonderful mix of vintage walnut and teak wood furniture to introduce warmth. Every piece of furniture was thrifted; lighting, accessories and window treatments a mix of both old and new. The eclectic artwork adds character, and always, always live fresh plants make every space inviting. The 100 year old butcher block is from an old shop near McKeesport, in Pittsburgh. It weighs nearly 800 lbs.
